The Vedic Research & Writing Paper Workshop, jointly organized by Om Vedic Foundation, the National Committee of the World Astro Federation, and the IT Innovation Center, Tribhuvan University, is a unique platform to explore the intersection of timeless Vedic wisdom and modern research practices. Scheduled for Saturday, 13 September 2025, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM in Kathmandu, the workshop aims to equip participants with practical skills in research methodology, academic writing, and knowledge sharing while fostering global connections in the field of Vedic studies.

Prof. Dr. Subarna Shakya is Nepal’s first Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and a Professor at Tribhuvan University. He has served as Executive Director of the National IT Center and Director of TU’s IT Innovation Center. An award-winning scholar, he has published extensively, supervised Ph.D. research, and advanced ICT, e-governance, and innovation in Nepal.

Prof. Joan Peckham, Professor Emerita of Computer Science at the University of Rhode Island, is a leader in data science, computing education, and interdisciplinary research. A former NSF Program Director, she has advanced women in STEM, led Big Data initiatives, and co-developed “No-boundary research.” She currently works with URI’s IARC, promoting AI ethics, sustainability, and cross-disciplinary innovation.

Dr. Lok Raj Poudel is a prominent Vedic astrologer from Nepal, serving as President of the World Astrology Federation Nepal. As a life member of Astro-Council Nepal, he advocates for licensing astrologers and integrating scientific standards into traditional practice. He has actively contributed to the 17th National Astro Conference, promoting unity, credibility, and modernization in astrology.

Dr. Mahesh Maharjan is a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering (Singhania University, 2017), serving as an MIS Specialist in earthquake housing reconstruction under the World Bank. He is also a research supervisor at Lincoln University College, Malaysia, and contributes to Nepal’s academic landscape through roles at CAN Federation and The British College.
Dr. Lila Nyaichyai earned her PhD in International Relations from Yunnan University (2019), focusing on Chinese public diplomacy in Nepal and another PhD in Library Science. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in Library and Information Science at Tribhuvan University and contributes to the China Desk at the Center for Nepalese and Asian Studies. She also supervises MPhil students at Nepal Open University.
